By biomass utilization as a local source the project “Reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the use of biomass energy in Northwest Slovakia” contributes to regional development in Slovakia. BIOMASA Association was awarded for this project by international Environmental price ÖGUT in 2001 in Vienna.

The other price for BIOMASA Association is European award for Local Climate Activities CLIMATE STAR 2004 for its commitment to climate protection in practice through activities in local level. This competition is annually organized by Climate Alliance, The European city network for climate protection.

The latest award for association BIOMASA and its project "Integrated logistic for the use of biomass energy in Slovakia" is Energy Globe Award 2006 in the national level (for Slovak Republic). World award for sustainable development is the most important environmental award. Every year nominations from around the world are invited for the Energy Globe Award. Projects are nominated in the categories: Earth, Energy, Water, Air and Youth. The Energy Globe is supported by the EU, UN, OECD, Austrian Ministries, etc.
