European Community, LIFE+ program
LIFE is the EU’s financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU, as well as in some candidate, acceding and neighbouring countries. Since 1992, LIFE has co-financed some 3115 projects, contributing approximately €2 billion to the protection of the environment.
LIFE+ is the new Financial Instrument for the Environment which has entered into force on 9 June 2007. The general aim of LIFE+ is to contribute to executing, updating and forming environmental policy and legal regulations of European Community. It consists of 3 program segments:
A) LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity
B) LIFE+ Environment Policy and Governance
C) LIFE+ Information and Communication
